At ProSport Physiotherapy we have treated some of the worst and chronic adductor pain cases successfully through our unique assessment and treatment tools as shown in our video below. Adductor pain is caused by an overload of the groin area where the adductor muscles do too much work because other muscles do not work enough. This imbalance causes the adductor muscles to become weak and tired!
You do not need to be doing loads of adductor strengthening for adductor or groin pain but rather activate muscles that are weak in order to eliminate the problem once and for all!
This exercise below is a great exercise to cause temporary relief until we fully assess you and find the true cause of the problem and get you 100% fit again!
This exercise is one we use regularly with patients before they have to activate specific muscles. It is a great one for ensuring your hips maintain their mobility.
Sit on a table with a tennis/hockey ball positioned in the ridge just below the glutes where the hamstrings and adductor converge.
Adjust your position on the ball until you find a trigger point. Hold any “hot point” for 30/60s. While your on the trigger move your hip rotators by swinging your lower leg from side to side. On completion switch legs.
Try to place as much body weight as possible on the ball. The more painful it is the more your muscle needs to be massaged.
You Should Feel:
As if you were getting a deep massage to your upper adductor and hamstrings.

“I’d been struggling for the best part of a year with what I (and my old physio) thought was a damaged hamstring. I’d heard about Pro Sport and read about their Soft Tissue Release Techniques and thought I’d nothing to lose by trying a new approach. Thank goodness I did…..
